I have a 2004 Expedtion Eddie Bauer and I am having problems with power door locks do not work and I cannot open the rear hatch also alarm will not work nor will the key fob. I have been told that the BCM is bad and needs to be replaced I can take it to ford and it will cost around 5 or 6 hundred dollars to have repaired or I can take the BCM out and send it to a company that will repair it and send back .My main question is if I take the BCM out will I still be able to drive the car or is it dead until I get part back also to have rebuilt cost about 200 dollars .Please advise

I don't know the answer, but if I were in your shoes I'd unplug it and see what happens. If I had to venture a guess the PCM should still work.
