That makes more sense. I find it crazy that both would go bad at the same time.

My thoughts exactly. I've been doing brake jobs for 30 years and have never seen that before.If it's not a common issue, most mechanics would see that and construe it to be leaking seals. It could be grease if that's how they were assembled, but that would be kind of stupid.
That one pic sure looks like it's leaking fluid out of the caliper piston seal. Can't leave it like that. Need to either replace the whole unit or the seal. My bet is that motorcraft does offer a rebuild kit for those calipers so the only thing the dealer could offer is to replace.So I probably got screwed. The vehicle is done, so no chance just to seals. May have been mis-diagnosed.
