The max payload is with the minimum trim Max trim is always way less payload

OP got an active. Probably shouldn’t have gotten the HD tow package. I bet that is what kills the payload.

That does suck, but the new trucks do ride a helluva lot better so some consolation...

interesting, the GVWR is higher than my '19 non-Max Limited 4x4 which is 3379kg/7450 lbs. mine is an 8 seater, yours is a 7.

btw, I looked and looked for 6 months in 2023, and couldn't find an FX4 2019-2020 ...

Probably bc I ordered it without a sunroof.

I ordered a 2025 expedition active, with HD tow package. Worked with the dealership, and even got them to check the Ford dealer website specs for the payload capacity rating, which was listed as 1900 lbs. Of course, this probably doesn’t include the weight of gasoline and fluids. The purchase was contingent on the payload > 1500 lbs, which is for towing purposes (6 passengers + tow hitch trailer weight) . Finally, 6 months later the vehicle arrives — and what is the payload capacity on the yellow door sticker? 1360 lbs.

Thanks Ford for waisting my time. And by the way, the big deal for the Ford Expedition is its higher tow rating. All they did to get a higher towing rating was by reducing the payload capacity.
To the OP: I have a loaded to the gills 2025 Max Platinum with platinum ultimate package and HD tow. My door sticker also says 1360 for payload. I took it to the CAT scale today and with 3/4 tank off fuel came up with a real world payload of 1560, which if you account for a missing 7 gallons (42 pounds of gas) would put my true payload at 1518, assuming I’m not missing anything. So you may be good to go. Just need to weigh it.

Is it as straight forward as weighing the actual vehicle and subtracting from GVWR to get real payload capacity?
