The dealer sais
"As for the difference in payload between the XLT you reached out on and the Limited’s I’ve sent your way, the Expedition Limited has a continuously Controlled Damper with Sport tuned suspension. This electronically controlled suspension gives us the improved payload capacity. "
Is this the CCD W/SUSP ROAD PREVIEW 1,245.00 I see in the window sticker of the Limited model?
That CCD comment increasing payload capacity is BS IMO. My 22 XLT has the standard suspension with the heavy duty tow package and I'm at 1795 lbs of payload. It is similar to that XLT truck except I don't have the pano roof which takes around 150 lbs of payload. The XLT should have around 1650 lbs payload IMO. I don't believe they made any suspension changes between 22 and 24 model years.

Maybe they sent the wrong payload sticker for the XLT one? Have them resend it with the VIN sticker above it like was done on the Limited one so you can see the VIN matches.

I just looked at the sticker on our 2023 Platinum. It is 1616.

It is the short (non Max), rear drive, HD Trailer package, 22” wheels, Panoramic Sunroof, CCD.

This is just for reference as another data point. BTW, Im noticing that a few posts don’t say whether they are Max or not or rear vs 4 Wheel drive

I believe Ford factory workers just use whatever sticker nearby, with numbers in a certain spec range, when they assembly the vehicles. The payload sticker on my 2024 XLT max black accent with HD tow, 4x4 and with no sunroof tells me the rating is 1537lbs, which is completely ******** to me. I take it as such: anywhere from 1500 to 1700lbs should be fine.

And here is another 2024 XLT (Non Max) with No Pano roof and it is still 1405. I have yet to see a 2024 XLT (Non Max) higher than this.

2024 XLT - Window sticker is on the first page under the price of the listing - Door Sticker

Not sure what is going on. The GVWR and axle loadings on that last one are pretty close to the same as mine with a significant reduction in payload somehow. Maybe Ford is trying to up-sale people to higher trim levels so they put low payload stickers on the XLTs. Or they do what Hellwig said above. I think Dodge was doing something similar to that with the Durango's where they all had the same payload regardless of the options installed. Downside is that is the "legal" payload capacity you are stuck with.

Buy an older one with a correct payload!
