If you have a 15-17 and aren’t running a Catch can you are severely missing out on an easy build up preventer, and possible issues down the line. See images below. It was a nice day after a week of severe cold, so I took the opportunity to empty my Catch cans on both my 16 Edge Sport and my 17 Expedition(1st Gen 3.5EB). These are pics from my Expeditions catch can After about 3500 Miles. My Edge was slightly less, but looked the same, and was about 4000 miles. It is worse in winter, and the 3.5 definitely fills faster.

I take it your Expy likes it’s coffee with double cream. It’s a no brainer to run one of these cans in the 15-17 with how much stuff they catch for 1-2 hundred bucks or so.

Will that catch can come with the proper mount like in the pic? If I recall, the one that mounts by the battery won't work for the expy, thanks

The one I linked is the one I have installed. Pic included in the original post.

Not really needed on a 2007.

Catches the crud coming back to the intake.

New user here,
My Question is, what is the difference between the catch can linked above and the UPR Dual Valve Catch can they sell over on Stage3motorsport? other than the huge price difference. What is advantage on the UPR for having the WOT Line?

:Update: Figured it out with Minimal research.

And this is why I’ll never buy a truck w eco boost.

Haha! I love it when people say that. ANY Modern Motor has this problem. Direct Injection Motors make it worse, because they don’t have the fuel running over the valves to help clean it. Even the 5.0 people are putting Catch Cans on. Not an EB, but has DI.

That is why the 2nd Gen 3.5TT EB found in the 18+ Expy’s has less issue with buildup, because it has PI and DI injectors. Still the crap going in, just has fuel being injected above the intake valves to help dissolve it.

For clarity for those in the back that seem to not hear things...

THIS IS NOT JUST A FORD THING, and NOT JUST AN ECOBOOST THING. Any DI Motor should have a Catch Can.
