I'm looking to order a 2026 Platinum Max Stealth P & A. It comes with 24" stock wheels and tires. Has anyone changed them out for 20 or 22's" for a smoother ride AND does changing the wheel size affect the manufacturers warranty?

I’ve got 22’s factory rims on my SPP and I find them harsh. If you look for a softer ride you gotta go to 18 or 20” rims.

Are you able to find a leftover 25? The spp on the 25s have 22s.

Good thing, the 5th gens are way less harsh than the 4th gens. I changed out my 22 navs tires to the size and ratio the 5th gens use and it helped with the harshness a lot.

To answer the question you asked. No, changing rim size does not affect manufacturer warranty.

Changing rubber size gets a little iffy.

Downsizing from 24 inch to 20 inch, but keeping the same relative diameter of tire won’t even make Ford blink. They might give you hassle if you upsize the rubber, but normally they don’t even bother with that. It’s hard to prove that larger tires cause issues. The Magnusson – moss act gives you a lot of protection in that area.

My ‘24 king Ranch has the 22 inch rims. I personally think they ride really nicely. Especially compared to my ex excursion or my raptor. Pricewise, the 22’s aren’t exactly cheap. So 20s may be the way to go for best ride (softness) and price factor.

I have a 2019 Platinum Expedition and switched from 22 to 18 so I can drive on a beach. I had to buy new rims, of course, and haven't had any problems otherwise. The only thing is to watch the inflation rate. The values in the manual etc are different for 18 inch tires. I also had a hard time getting the air sensors to like the new values.
