Wife just told me her 2017 Expedition just lit the "Check 4x4" light came on today. She did not see if 4wd would engage. Ideas on what might be up with this? Thanks.

My first thought is the Vacuum Control Auto Hub Lock Solenoid Actuator not working. That is a $15 part and right in front of your face, easy to replace, part.

However, you should get an OBD2 scanner and check it out first.

Checked it out today - the drive switch lifts right out of the socket. Looks like 2 little hollow plastic posts have separated from their base.
You can see one of them in this pic.
Switch still works - 2h, 4a, 4h and 4l all work.
Thinking about putting a bit of glue on the posts.....what do yall think?
It is under warranty.

Hi Joe,

If it is still under warranty, and the switch has a broken part, get it to the dealer and have it replaced for free.

Glue on plastic, including epoxies hardly ever create as strong a bond as the original material. And if you don't disturb it too much, it is still under warranty. I would put it back in, go to the dealer and see what they find and replace.

It is a good way to see how honest your dealer is as well.
