Chrome Window Sill Trim

Just finished replacing the door window trim with the equivalent chrome ones from the '03 Navigator. Looks very sharp!

All trim pieces are easy to swap out except for the driver's door.

For the passenger front door, simply pull up on the rear portion of the trim and slide out.

For the rear passenger door, pull up on the front portion of the trim and pull down on the rear portion.

The driver side window sill trim is difficult to change out because of the keypad which has a wire connector which needs to be disconnected.

In order to do this, the interior door panel needs to be removed.

Rather than getting into it, here is a good link on removing the interior door trim panel.

The door mirror needs to be removed. There you'll find the wire connector to the keypad. Once it's disconnected, then it's a little easier to remove the trim.

Once out, the new trim pops in.

One of these days, I'll get some pictures out.

Yes, you could do that too, but then you're also paying for the installation as well.

Also, Ford might pull a lame excuse that you are voiding your warranty on the keypad because now you're replacing it with a non-ford factory part.

Yes, the Lincoln part is equivalent, but it's not what the vehicle came with from the factory, so you never know.
