Hello,

Lately I got the park aid fault message on the dash, screen pop up of a car with a red circle and crossout on the nav screen.

The back up and forward sensors do not beep when parking.
All cameras are working.
The vehicle approaching from (either side) beeps are both working front and rear.
Adaptive cruise is working.
I have this code from my scanner. On the scanner it says RL Side fault. To me that means Rear Left Side meaning the one that outward on the driver side but given that the side approach warning is working I think not.

Anyway know which sensor I should be looking at?
Would one faulty sensor in the rear affect the front?

2021 Expedition Limited

Thanks!

Should be the left rear side sensor cording to that code. Maybe unplug the sensor clean the terminals and put her back together, clear the codes and see what happens.

Thanks, but that was what I already said and it still confuses me. In you reply are you referring to location 1, 2, or 3 in the picture?
Thanks

Left rear side should be location #1 in your picture. Drivers side, rear, first sensor that looks to the side.

Thanks. I’ll give that one a look tomorrow. Just making sure since the vehicle approaching from left warning is working. Seems odd that would work but not the rear park assist from the same sensor.

If you put the car in reverse the cam with the parking sensors should come up on the screen. All you need to do is cover one sensor after the other with your hand on the rear bumper, while watching the screen. 2 person job.

Interesting... your Expy has 6 sensors. Mine only has 4 at the rear. Where your #1 sensor is, I got none.

Right, that's why I was questioning why my vehicle approaching from the side warning still works on both front and rear. Neither front or rear park assist works.

Hm… weird. I don’t think a single bad sensor should disable the whole thing front and rear. Did you scan the OBD2 for codes?

Since none of them are working, must be something stupid like a bad connection between wiring harness, a broken wire somewhere etc.
