Coolant Hose Leak

I had both heater core coolant hoses replaced at my local independent repair shop this week. It was covered under the Maxcare (Fidelity) extended warranty. I paid a $100 deductible and a $59 Diagnostic fee, $159.00 total. I have 68,542 miles on my 2019.

Are these coolant hose failures due to the plastic Y pipe failing? Or, due to the aluminum crimp sleeves that are used to clamp the rubber hose to the Y pipe splitting and releasing its clamp?
