FYI, on my replacement I found the section that goes back to the firewall to be about 2-3 inches too long. Kind of pushed the whole thing forward. It turns out that there is a short section back there that the updated replacement assembly is evidently intended to also replace.

Atleast, on my 2008 thats what I found.

My Amazon history shows Motorcraft part KH-509, where its $60.98 today Prime, little less from other sellers with free, who-knows-when-shipping.

I purchased for $46.18 in Jan of 2018.

mine is also a 2008 and I didn't have that issue, maybe that's the advantage of getting the genuine ford part? Have you removed the extension, shortened your new house or just decided to live with the extra length?
