Hi, have a coolant leak… 2011 Expedition, driver side… radiator was empty! Coolant looks good, oil looks good, see dripping from back of engine, again driver side… thought was freeze plug, all look good, looked higher it’s wet… took off breather to feel back of engine and hoses, nothing. Then noticed coolant pooled around coil packs. (Pictures below) truck runs smooth. Brain in panic thinking head gasket or cracked head… any ideas, had this happened to someone before?! Hard to get pics. 5.4L 230k non turbo, has rear ac.

Others have posted on this forum about an engine coolant leak with the 5.4L engine that involves the heater core hose(s) on the passenger side - with the quick connect fitting(s) leaking, and allowing engine coolant to pool on top of the engine around the coil packs.

You may want to do a search and some reading. Good luck.

Yeah I searched threads, not on passenger side, it’s driver side… I replaced the heater hoses on passenger side last year, no leaks now on that side

I just had a leak in the driver side front area by the front coil in my 2014. It was the coolant crossover. The o-ring was leaking. See this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lUM9n2b4mQ

The coolant crossover, it has a gasket on both driver and passenger side but on mine the driver side went out and was slowly leaking coolant over onto my ignition coils, I'll find the picture of mine and show you.
