Yeah, if you buy a "standard size" LED bulb and put it into the standard pre-LED Expedition housing, for example, you will blind everyone else on the road while not getting great visibility for yourself. Stock housings for older cars are made specifically for halogens and reflect the light accordingly. LED light behaves differently and will be scattered by the stock housing. So not only is it a bad choice for visibility, it's a severe safety hazard for other drivers. If you want LEDs in your older model car, do the research and find projector-style lamps, or lamps that are more specifically constructed for LEDs.
