You can't get it from the VIN. It's on the sticker in the driver door jamb.

It's a 3.55 gear axle. If you see H9 for an axle code on the door jamb sticker it's a limited slip, otherwise open axle. Get a Carfax for the truck. It says it's been wrecked and auctioned twice, and something like 143k miles on it ?
