Another likely "noob" question... for future repair (if needed) purpouses, I'm trying to determine if the 1998 Expedition I just bought was coils springs from day 1 or used a conversion kit to remove a failed air suspension?
Reason I ask is that I noticed what looked like an old EEC-IV test connector under the dash, marked as being for "Susp/Evo Test". Did all Expiditions of this vintage have the connector, or does this indicate that this thing once had the dreaded air suspension?
I'm leaning towards not, since it has what appears to be the stock (and very rusty) track bar in the back and it doesn't have the 3rd ear that track bars listed as being for the air suspension seem to have. Any other good ways to tell?
I figure if I ever have to replace springs or shocks, I'll need to know that so I get the right parts...
