How many of you have a running board light that lets moisture in? l have one that must have a hidden small crack somewhere. I decided to clean the dirt and algae out of it until I can replace it with one that does not leak. Here is the condition it is in.

First I had to remove the plastic anchor screw, to lower the cover, underneath the running board, to allow access to the bulb and lens socket.

After removing the socket and bulb I used some spray cleaner and brushes to clean it out. Then I power flushed it out with garden hose. All this done from bulb socket hole.

Then I blew it dry with air hose. You can also use hair dryer being careful not to distort from heat or use a tissue. Looks much better.

If I had kept the running boards I would've cleaned them and used LEDs. Looks better

I agree. I tried an LED from Superbright that I had. It was whiter but not as bright as the incandescent for some reason.

Thinking about using some colored ones.
