I have an 04 expedition 5.4. I did a smoke test on my evap line coming from the purge solenoid. I have already ordered a new vent solenoid because from what I can see it is extremely rusted. However, it was leaking from what seemed to be a rubber cap that is overlapping the solenoid. The rubber seems dry rotted and split. I don’t want to take the entire assembly down, but I want to know if this is a separate part I’m going to need to order. Or if this just simply covers the solenoid and it’s the actual solenoid is leaking.
