"Door Ajar" on when doors closed

2003 Expedition
When the drivers door is open the door ajar light goes off, when I close the door the "door ajar" pings and the interior lights come on. Also my stereo system is making a ping at the same time. Somehow it must be related but I'm stumped. Any ideas or links for a fix?

Most likely the driver's door jamb switch is bad ( very common ). You have to get to the door latch to replace it. If you have a laptop and the ForScan app you look at the individual doors to confirm which switch is bad. Once you get the latch free, a quarter turn releases the door jamb switch. When you order, make sure you get the correct side of the vehicle. There is a difference between the left and the right side.
