DW Bothered By Flashing Light

My wife loves her 2013 King Ranch, and I understand why. But skipping the small talk, there is what appears to be the image of a padlock flashing quickly every few seconds when the car is shut down. The page in the owners manual showing symbols tells me it's indicating something regarding the child safety locks. I believe these locks were not available when our children were, well, children. Any thoughts as to how to stop it? We've locked and unlocked them on both rear doors.

That is most likely just the security tattletale letting everyone know that the system is active. Very little draw, it can flash for weeks with drawing the battery down.

I appreciate the information. I'll pass it along. No worries about the battery. She only takes it to her hair dresser on Friday, then to the bank and home. Total miles driven: 6. So I put the battery tender on it frequently. She drove professionally for almost 30 years, so six miles a week these days suits her fine.

Make sure your rear hatch glass is closed. When you arm the alarm with the FOB you should get one chirp from the horn. Two chirps means something is not closed/secured. I don't see a flashing padlock on my 2013 XLT.
