Well, all this is making me feel better about my 2016 EL HD tow with the 3.73 gears. Around town, I get between 16 - 17mpg and hwy driving will get 19 - 20mpg keeping speed between 65-70mph.

My 2008 averaged ~15MPG. I never saw >18MPG, even freeway at 65MPH. My 2018 gets at least 30% better mileage. I've been seeing 15MPG towing my boat.

Curious to know if anyone has real world experience with a tuner to improve mpg? We don't tow with ours and I'm happy with our lifetime mileage of just over 19, but planning a 3000+ mile road trip this summer and was thinking a tuner might bump it up a bit.

2017 XLT 2wd 3.73 gears. About 50K miles. Around town 17mpg, on the road 70ish mph, 21mpg. Towing divide by 2....My 2007 XLT 2wd 2.73 gears, 5.4 was 12mpg or so in town, 17mpg or so on the road, and 10mpg towing at the same speeds. As they say...YMMV!
