I searched but did not see a discussion on this. I am looking at some used 2022/2023 Timberlines. I noticed some have one or more deleted option items, such as auto stop/start, active park assist, hands free liftgate... some combination of those or others. Are they available for retrofit? I would probably only really want to have the park assist.

Even if you could add the park assist, I doubt you'd use it enough to justify the cost to add it...I have it--never used it. #2, I think you're better off w/o the auto start-stop. I turn mine off either when I first start up or the first time it stops at a light. The only time I didn't have to turn it off manually was when my original battery aged. #3 The hands-free lift gate doesn't always work like it's supposed to but has a tendency to open or close at times when you least want it to: unloading the cargo area, removing the hitch cover. etc. The most desirable feature that was deleted on a lot of trucks/SUVs is the heated steering wheel. Even living in AZ, I still take advantage of it several times during the colder months. If I lived in a cold climate, I would be irate to have it deleted

I've been meaning to look under there to see if I can 3d print a part to focus the detection beam. Right now it's pretty wide, so when the expy is parked in the garage and there's a puddle from melted snow, the beam will reflect off the water and trigger as I walk behind it.

Also, I wish they'd added a cheap red laser dot at each side pointing at the ground. The kind you get in those garage parking guides. Then you'd know where to kick to get it to activate. Sometimes I'm standing there, arms full, kicking away like crazy and it won't activate. Other times I move my leg a little too quickly in bed, and down in the garage the tailgate opens.

Thanks for the input so far. I think I am just concerned about losing the sensor functions (object detection forward and backward). The cameras are nice, but I don't mind the beeps when the truck 'sees' something. If those are active, I don't think I will miss the park assist because I rarely parallel park etc...

Before vehicles at reverse/proximety sensors, I would roll windows before reversing in a high pedestrian area and if I heard the screams or yelling that would be my alert to stop. Very effective

Indeed. The sound of something cracking/breaking also works.

I would have to agree........the rear sensors don't pick-up foot traffic unless they are covered in armor. Lol

I have a ‘22 Timberline Covid-car with removed features. All of the cameras and sensors still work great for parking help so sounds like you will be happy enough with that. Active park is just to have hands off park, right?
While I sometimes miss the “kick to open” option, I think it becomes more annoying than useful for my liking. My MachE has it and will open the hatch when I drag the charging cord around the back but doesn’t always open when I have my hands full.
