First Post! New tires and shady dealerships

I got a new to me 2022 Limited with 64K miles. It came with two OEM tires and two Hercules shit tires. I mentioned it and the salesman said they wouldn't lose a sale over tires, but later said they would not change them or provide a discount. Should have walked but I got what I consider a pretty decent deal.

Had a noise that was akin to a wheel bearing, but wanted to wait until I got new tires to see if it was related to the Hercules tires that were brand new. What do you know, noise is gone with the new Pirelli Scorpions.

I've had good success with these in the past, so overall I'm happy that i don't have to have any work done/do any work.

Congrats on the sweet ride, but I would keep an ear out on that noise, so if it returns, you can address it right away....the new tires may have just silenced it for now....hopefully...

But I would definitely look for another dealer for sure ! Pretty crappy of them to back pedal on the tire swap/discount, especially since they should not have even listed it for sale without all 4 tires matching...

When I bought my 011, I made the tire swap (& a few other things) part of the deal & told the salesman to take it or leave it...because the ones on it were shot (although they did all match) and I was not about to pay big $$$ for a new (to me) vehicle and then have to go get new tires too...

A few days later, I found out where they got the tires from, and that they got them for about $200 less than it would have cost me (B2B discount ?), so that was a win-win IMHO

It was very noticeable prior to, but yeah I will keep an ear on it.

Welcome to the forum. Nice ride! I just put on Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive and it is a dream ride. Yeah, the dealership selling a vehicle like that with mismatched tires is red flag!

Welcome to the forum. This community has saved me more money than you can imagine.

The scorpions are the best tires I’ve ever driven on. You’ll enjoy them. Just make sure whoever put the tires on did a real good alignment, especially the rears.

And don’t let some of the threads scare you. They point out some of the bigger problems with these models but if you stick to 5000 mile oil change is religiously and your drive fluids every 60,000 miles you’ll be amazed how reliable this can be.

Shady dealer... I can't imagine a USED CAR DEALER.. WELL WAIT.. I can not imagine a car dealer that is not shady.. I have been raked over the coals by most of them I have delt with. I had a friend that tried to sell cars at a local dealer. He did not last real long. He has morals. Could not tell lies or be dishonest.
