Need some knowledge and help with our New 2024 Expedition MAX Limited "Folding Mirror". We're in SoCal, [CA].
Our new 2024 Expy, when it's parked in the garage and 'locked', folds both LH & RH sideview mirrors in. They do fold in smoothly and relatively quietly, humming. In the morning when unlocked, the 2 mirrors fold out but 'often' the RH mirror chatters as it is folding out. It is not only a noticeable "chattering sound/noise", as it moves out, but you can visibly "see" the mirror jumping/chattering sideways as it moves out. The Expy only has under 2000 miles on it and this is pretty annoying but, worse, is it about to fail? Unfortunately, it DOES NOT do this chattering EVERY TIME. During the day, as the temps warm up, it seems like it rarely does this chattering. Mostly, does it in the mornings but NOT every morning.
If anyone else has had this experience and knows if this is just a lubrication fix or if it needs to go to the dealer for repair/replacement, I would sure appreciate your experience and knowledge here. Thanks much, Lance
