They have had one for years. Many police departments don't do them, but many fire departments do.

I sure hope some of the new stuff makes it's way down to the "normal" Expy's, especially the split lift/tailgate....but I gotta see one in person before I decide on whether to sell/retire my trusty ole '011 EL

All 2025 model Expeditions have the split lift gate. However, I doubt that they'll be retrofitting your 2011 model.
I don't think there will be any special parts. There isn't any external differences on the current SSV's that I have seen local. Interiors are trimmed down and they are column shifted, so they can have all the things on/in the Center console.

It's right up by the main screen, so it's unlikely any departments would be covering that up with a laptop, otherwise the driver wouldn't be able to access half the vehicles features - especially HVAC.

Well, I would really like to have the split gate, and I have a friend who said he might be able to 3D print the parts at his company's shop, so there's always hopeAll 2025 model Expeditions have the split lift gate. However, I doubt that they'll be retrofitting your 2011 model.
