Like I said, you described exactly what mine was doing shortly after I bought it. I pulled fuse 104 and the noise went completely away. I did the BWM and drove it 80k miles (up to 263k where I sold it- and it’s still driving around the oilfields in TX) without issue. And I took it offroad many times while camping. 4lo was regularly engaged on these trips. 4hi was used on fast washboard (I find it helps to smooth it out).

If you want to swap in a vacuum actuated axle, then party on Wayne.

But I don’t think you need to.

Ok but what i gather from this post is, you disabled the awd because something was bad, you never got it diagnosed or fixed, and then you sold it.

Or are you claiming its a design flaw?

I like to actually fix things instead of ignore them and pass them off.

Cool.

It’s only about 20k overdue for another.

What i was reading said 60k in between t case fluid changes.

I jacked up the whole truck on jack stands and had someone drive it while i listened.

The sound is clearly from the front diff when torque is applied.

The t case is quiet during this operation.
