So at some point I'll be getting a tune for my 21 Platinum and while the wife will be driving it way more than me, I'm still wanting to tune it.
It does feel little laggy compared to our 20 Explorer ST is replacing, which i never got around to tuning, so a little extra may be nice. It will more than likely never see the strip and hopefully they offer a tune that will make automatic changes between 87 and 93 octane.
I'll never tow a dang thing with it, so that's not needed. I know MPT does great work but from what I'm hearing Gearhead may be option for me.
Only mods I may ever add are a better flowing intake set up/ filter, intercooler and maybe some mild exhaust work. Just let me know what you other think and have experienced.

Ive had a Gearhead auto octane tune on my 2018 for a couple of years. I always run 93 and it performs great. I also have an e30 specific tune from them that rips. I had a few 5 star tunes on it before and the gearhead tune seems to have a much smoother and more linear power delivery.

Thanks for the update! I had a 5star tune on my last 5.4 3v... and it was "ok" , but I still have that tuner and they told me they could redo tunes for any other vehicle using it. So while i could have some money doing that, I think having a proper more in depth tune is obviously more important.

ZFG, Gearhead, and MPT are who I would recommend. My 2020 was tuned by ZFG. Do a search on here. It was a 2020 Max Limited on Factory 22's and she was only tune and ripped! Big girl could hustle!

I'm familiar with ZFG, they are huge in the Explorer ST world. They are still an option, but I'm not going for max power. I know they will do what you ask them to, within reason.

100%. Our Expedition was not maxxed. It was the Wife's daily. It was FUN. Yeah, had a 2020 ST, and wife drives a 2025 ST now...cause she missed my 2020! Like I said, I recommend ZFG, but I think Gearhead, and MPT are GREAT options also.

Auto Octane...but yes.

No point in putting anything less than 92+ in an Ecoboost in my opinion...but I like getting the most out of my Engines...
