Has anyone swapped 05-06 Eddie Bauer Instrument Cluster into the 03-04 Eddie Bauer?

i tried to go the plug & play way but it didn't work, the plugs for the 03-04 are on the bottom of the cluster and the plugs on the 05-06 are near the top. plugs couldn't even come close to reaching

03 and 04 are similar, 05 and 06 are also similar to each other. 04 and earlier are analog and 05+ are digital if that makes sense. They are completely different electrically. For example >=04 have EGR and a throttle cable, <=05 are drive by wire and variable cam timing.
