On the headlights on the 2009, when I put mine back in the inside (closest to the grill) seems loose. When I looked, the top and bottom "posts" one is just a round black piece and the other is a screwed in post. Is there any grommet that's supposed to go on the mount that holds the lamp?

If I were here, you would know it !
Not sure exactly what you are referring to, but if you could post a pic it would help identify what, if anything, needs to go where..

If you are talking about the BULBS, then yes there should be a washer/grommet that goes between the assembly and the bulb where it attaches to the assembly...this is to prevent any water or moisture from getting inside the glass part....

If you are talking about the headlight assemblies themselves, when I replaced them on my '011 EL, there are just 2 bolts on the top that screw into & secure them to the frame, and 1 round "post" that sticks out from the bottom area, which when pushed on, pops into one of those self-grabbing socket thingies and boom, all done :D

There is also a small screw-looking thing that is used to aim/adjust the headlights, but that one has a nylon washer behind the head and a lock washer on the other end, and has nothing to do with the mounting parts....

Yeah, I think mine is missing what the little round thing sticks into. The inside bottom part of my headlight just bounces up and down if I push on it, I don't remember it doing that before. Ford replaced the headlight assemblies after a wreck and I guess they didn't put anything back in. Annoying cause the lights shake when hitting bumps and in Louisiana, bumps are everywhere. I'll check it all out and see if I can find something on the ford parts site. Thanks

I'm in the same situation, needing new headlight grommets as well as tail light grommets. Searching has been a challenge. So far this is what I've found:

Tail light grommets (I think): https://ford.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/ford-tail-lamp-assembly-nut-w708580s300?c=bD0xMSZuPVNlYXJjaCBSZXN1bHRzJmE9Zm9yZCZvPWV4cGVkaXRpb24meT0yMDEyJnQ9eGwmZT01LTRsLXY4LWZsZXg=

Tail Lamp Assembly Nut - Ford (W708580-S300)

Headlight Grommets (I think): https://ford.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/ford-grommet-f5oy14603a?c=bD0xJm49U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHMmYT1mb3JkJm89ZXhwZWRpdGlvbiZ5PTIwMTImdD14bCZlPTUtNGwtdjgtZmxleA==

Grommet - Ford (F5OY-14603-A)

Can anyone else look and verify whether these are correct?

Sadly Rock Auto does not have either in stock when searching by name or part number.

You don't have to be sad - the OEM headlight grommets are available from several sellers on EBay.

Great! Can you confirm whether these are the right parts/numbers for the headlights and taillights?

The headlamp grommmet looks like the one used on my 2015 Expedition Limited with the halogen headlamps.

Search for the part numbers on EBay. Some sellers have photos of the part, which would help you determine if the part is exactly what you want.
