Did Ford update the "blue" color option at some point? I thought the photos in the below article were just a case of HDR gone wild. But then I wanted to see what the various colors would look like with the blackout package and the build-and-price shows a brighter blue. And when I search on autotrader, the photos seem to show the older, darker blue and some new bright blue trucks. https://www.offroadxtreme.com/featu...ion-fx4-review-unassuming-off-road-superstar/

Agreed. The new blue is a LOT brighter.

I'm liking the new blue. Also like the older blue to so both work.

Not sure, but I have noticed the metallic in the paint makes the appearance of the colors to appear significantly different. Still waiting to see the silver spruce in person, but when I search that color on autotrader the dealer pics range from silver to totally green for the same model depending upon lighting/angle.

Photographing a blue car in direct sunlight will yield much punchier color than photographing it under overcast conditions.

My blue 2018 looks like that 2019 photo when it's in bright sunlight. I really like the color; it has a lot of variation to it in different lighting and from different angles even in the same lighting.

That's not to say that the 2019 paint hasn't changed slightly.

ETA: the photos in that linked article definitely have that over-baked-HDR look.

Yeah, I know enough about photography not to try and compare colors taken in vastly different lighting conditions, which is why I didn't think anything of the photos in the article (or comparisons like the one above). But then I went and played with the build and price thing on Ford's website and saw this:

Touch up paint for 2018 & 2019 "blue", also known as Blue Diamond Metallic, is the same. I call it metallic, Ford's website calls it Mettalic. Exxit Sanndmann.

Strait from Fords website, the conspiracy theorist could surmise the color won't be around for 2020:

Part #: PMPC195007411A (19500)
(FT), 09/25/2017 - 11/11/2019, Expedition (U553), Blue Mettalic
