OK towing experts!

I just upgraded from a 2006 Expedition XLT to a 2016 XLT, both with the HD Tow Package. I've been using a 4" drop ball mount on the 06 to tow my car trailer, but the hitch on the 2016 is about 1" lower to the ground. Can I still safely use the 4" drop or should I get a new one?

Thanks in advance,
John

That's like asking: "How long is a piece of string?" :) Ideally, the trailer should be level. If it's still level or nearly so, it's fine. If it isn't, replace it. If you're often towing different trailers like I am and have money to burn, check out the B&W hitches. :D

If the front is lower than the back of the trailer - you still might be ok. Depends how heavy the load and tongue weight are. You can try it and see.
