Hmmm...What is this connector / harness for?

2009 Expedition EL SSV...wiring harness not connected to anything come from same loom as the OBD port, about 6” up the line from the OBD...any ideas what this may connect to, or be intended for?

if it contains 4 wires, it is probably the harness to connect a trailer electronic brake controller.

Yes, it is the port for the EBC.

Look by your jack that’s where my wire/connector was for the EBC. I don’t use it Obviously.

There's a label and instructions visible in the photo.

Pigtail to connect a trailer brake controller. There was one with my '07 that I never used as the controller came with the right wiring,

Looked in all the compartments in the rear around the jack and did not find the connector.

You willing to part with yours? I currently tow a classic 1979 Starcraft Galaxy 8, no pics avail with the Expedition, but I’ve towed it with my Bronco and Excursion and it doesn’t need trailer brake, but I do anticipate maybe something larger in the future.

I have a 13 yo with Autism who won’t sleep in a tent but has successfully camped in the camper when we take him to out of state Autism events like Surfers Healing in RI.

I'm up in Alberta until Wednesday. Pretty sure I saw the pigtail from my '06 in a drawer of "stuff" recently. Never used as my Prodigy used the $10 Ford pigtail. If I find it I'll send it to you. Just gotta remember where.......................................
