Honked my horn and hit the brakes and my Sync screen, steering wheel, and radio controls stopped working?

On my commute today I expressed my love of traffic to someone doing something stupid with my horn while pressing my brakes. Then when I went to change my radio station on the steering wheel buttons I noticed no response. I then noticed the volume, and voice activation buttons where not working. Then touched the info-screen and got no response. I couldn't change anything. I then tried to turn off the radio with the dial and no response, as well as no responses from any buttons of the radio control except the volume knob up and down did work.

Frustrated, I Googled reset and did a soft reset of the infoscreen by pressing in the power and seek button for 10 seconds. Then the sync info screen went black and rebooted. After that all worked as expected, at least today anyways.

Question is, any ideas on what caused this? I saw posts on the Internet about replacing buttons on the steering wheel, but since this seemed to be an issue across the steering wheel, radio buttons, and info screen at the same time it doesn't add up.

Any feedback appreciated.

I have a 2013. The idiot who detailed mine at the dealer used some stuff that made the buttons very sticky. It is possible if you hit the horn and at same time put a lot of force into one of the buttons for the radio or other feature, then it is stuck down and will confuse the infotainment system.
