I'm right on the edge of my 5 year powertrain warranty and have a coolant leak. I see some yellow crust on the bottom of the water pump so I'm fairly certain that is the primary leak point.

Are leaks like those found on the turbo coolant lines covered under ESP?
What about the heater core hoses?

If I were here, you would know it !
If I understand the footprint correctly, hoses are not covered under ESP, no matter it is premium or just powertrain.
Yep, hoses are normally considered a "periodic maintenance" item with little to no warranty coverage...unless they failed because of another major component failed first....like a water pump, but not the other way around....

If you’re planning on keeping the vehicle for any time that ESP warranty covers through Ford, I would definitely get the Ford warranty. I have never lost money on a Ford warranty in 20+ years.

Now that doesn’t say much for the build quality or reliability just speaks to my irrational love of Fords.

Heater hoses are famous for leaking at the Y connection made from plastic. I had to replace mine because as stated, the ESP wont cover it. I went with a after market hose that had metal y connections. Not to hard of a job. Youtube it.

Catalytic converters are not covered, muffler is not covered. I have had one replaced catalytic converter replaced by dealer at around $1200, replaced heater hoses, can’t remember exact cost, around $600, I have read a few comments in the forum of the muffler packing blowing out, not sure what that cost might be.
Cam phasers and transmissions are covered. Not sure about sun roof or power running boards.
My dealer said to read carefully the items covered on the ESP warranty brochure, as if it is not listed, it likely will not be covered.
Maintenance items like spark plugs, fluid changes and brakes are not covered.
My 2018 Expy with just 100k miles and the ESP has cost me around $0.10 per mile in maintenance including tires, battery, $100 deductible on warranty repairs, all maintenance performed by dealer; I have dealer change all fluids on my 4 X 4, not including the cost of the warranty, insurance or fuel.

I have a 2018 that was CPO Gold Certified and then added the Ford ESP coverage. I can honestly say, in 6 months, I’ve almost made my money back and covered until 150k / 2029 plus it’s transferable so maybe that will help resale value. It’s true that wear and tear items like body trim and coolant hoses are not covered but the list online of what is covered is very extensive. For me, being able to add the lighting coverage for $50 on top of premium care sealed the deal. I already had one $900 LED tail light failed that the ESP plan took care of. If you plan to keep the car, this is the way to go. Many aftermarket insurance plans install used parts that are questionable but the ESP plan uses only dealer parts that would have been used under the original Warranty.

I have the PremiemCare ESP with LED exterior/interior lighting option and those bastards denied my claim for the high mount center brake light replacement. Due to water condensation.

Almost 90% of exterior lighting fails due to water intrusion/condensation which is why they make sure to exclude that. Slimey bastards

I went ahead and ordered the part and will install myself! Dealers wanted $600 to replace (which includes the part price which is $300 they said) I got it for $166 myself!

Your lighting package is only additional $50?I paid $100 for it on Jan 2024.

Man, that’s terrible. If there is no impact damage I can’t see how they could say no. Mine leaked water into itself and it was covered but I have to pass 4x Ford dealers to go to one that actually seems to want to fix things under Warranty.

Yep, it was $50 and I was only in CPO for drivetrain coverage so I had to pay $125 for an inspection. This was about a year ago but do notice the cost of plans vary by location and the terms you pick like the deductible. I also added full key coverage including the loss of it for $50 but bet prices have gone up since then.

Its not the dealer that denied the claim tho, it was Ford Protect.

Easy. Ever notice the "racetrack" light on the back of Dodge Durangos? Most of the ones you see on the road have segments of that light that no longer illuminate. The problem is water intrusion. All kinds of tips and videos on the Internet about how to seal the lamp housing or drill holes so it will drain. The replacement part is over a grand. Dodge/FCA/Stellantis refuses to do anything about it.
