I have some new headlight bulbs coming for the low beams on a 2016 expedition. I see the screws at the top of the headlight assembly but is there anything else holding the headlight in place?

On my 2007 you take the two or three bolts out up top and work it out and she will release.

Beside the two screws are two tabs on the top, lift them up to release the top of the assembly. The bottom of the assembly has two tits that fit in sockets mounted to the radiator frame. After you release the two tabs, grab the left and right sides of the assemble as best you can and pull and wiggle them until the two tits release themselves. then just maneuver it out of the housing and disconnect the plugs, twist the turn signal bulb socket to get it out of your way.

The vehicle owner’s manual for my 2015 Expedition Limited has instructing on how to remove the headlamp capsules and change the bulbs. Did you read your owner’s manual?

Ha. I did this just yesterday on my 2015. I got those diode dynamic led bulbs and installed them.

It was just those two upper screws to remove. Lift that one tab and pull forward. There are a few pop in spring clips and alignment pegs. I found that lifting up on the lower part of the assembly helped unseat the lower clip while pulling forward. It all came out pretty easily.

The low beam bulbs were behind a round rubber seal. Just pull it out to get access to the bulb. I was disappointed that my diode dynamics build allows itself to be installed with reversed polarity. The orig bulb had a form factor that only allowed it to be installed one way.

On my '17, there were two plastic "tit-holders" on the back sides after the tits on the bottom went through the holes. These holders are pressed on and will come right off but might be difficult to get off only by wiggling if they are still in place.
Once you remove them, wiggle the nacelle out as mentioned.

Looks good! Which bulbs did you go with? They appear to be a perfect match. I have a set of the philips crystalvision bulbs waiting to go in, but I'm not sure how close they will match the fogs.

I have the same ones. they have been going strong for about 6 months now, no issues at all.

I also used their high beam bulbs...fit was a bit tight but they do work in the factory housing.
