1st my license plate light burned out on the drivers side. Which did something to my tailgate window glass release button wiring?? I am assuming this due to how close they are in diagrams I’ve seen in the chilton and online. My issue is I can not get my glass to open. The whole tailgate will open. But the glass by its self will no longer open. I can hear it clicking when I hit liftgate glass on my keyfob. Do you know how to get the glass open?? I can’t replace the part because it’s where the glass latches to liftgate. I cant remove the inside panel because I cant open the glass??? Help!! Please!!

But you got your tag light replaced right ? The lens is just held in by a phillips screw and it's a regular #194 bulb.
With the doors unlocked, does the release button work when you press it? (The one above the tag...). Like you can hear the latch releasing? Or is it completely dead ?
The glass is spring loaded at the latch. Try pressing in at the handle or smacking it with your palm while you're pressing the release on your remote. New latches are still available from the dealer or online.

Both parts in the OP's pics appear to be used to me.

This one from Dorman looks just like the ones on our Expeditions, though it says it doesn't fit. For $15 it might be worth a shot.

EDIT: There are reviews that report these fit both the Gen 2 and Gen 3 Expeditions.

I can hear it lock and unlock inside. But it won’t release for the glass to open. The full back hatch will open.
