Hi all! I'm looking at a 2024 Expedition MAX King Ranch (3.5L EcoBoost, 10-speed) with 37k miles, and I'd love to hear from real owners before I commit.

Questions:

- Has anyone dealt with transmission shudder or jerking between gears, especially at lower speeds? Did a dealer relearn/reflash actually fix it for good, or did it come back?

- If you've had the brake line recall (25S47) done - did that actually resolve it, or have you had any brake issues since?

- Any electronics or infotainment quirks (SYNC glitches, camera issues, sensor false alarms) that showed up after the first year or two?

- If you're past 40-50k miles, how's it held up overall - any surprises, good or bad?

Trying to go in with eyes open rather than just trusting the CARFAX. Really appreciate any honest experiences, positive or negative!

My SPP (stealth performance package HO engine with HD trailer tow) didn’t need the brake line recall done, it was o.k. Transmission shudder no, but had a rear axle seal leak (ELSD). The rear ELSD is fords best kept secret. Wouldn’t want an Expy without it. Mine did have a reflash of a module done because of the gas gauge sometimes not showing the correct fuel level. Sensor false alarms really depend on circumstances, so I won’t comment on that.
The HD trailer tow makes the Expy ride like a GT500 and goes around corners you will not believe (doesn’t have the adaptive dampeners CCD). Really you would need to post all the options for folks to comment as there are so many variations, not funny. There is also another thing, the car horn. Make sure it sounds right. Had mine replaced in the winter as my truck sounded like a dinky car. Sync 4A worked always good for me, never had trouble with it.
I (ab)use my truck with 4 kids and a dog as a spirited daily driver. The gas mileage really depends on how heavy your lead foot is and winter vs summer.

I bought a used local 2024 LTD MAX w/28k on it last March. It replaced my 2014 LTD EL. I'm really liking it, but all the electronics scare the hell out of me. I bought the Ford extended warranty for 10 years and I'm happy with the peace of mind. The sale of my '14 paid for the E-W.
Anyway, all is good so far. I still hate the big screen but it is what it is. The only things I have trouble with is it not recognizing when I'm towing a trailer, and when backing up in tall weeds and such. It keeps slamming on the brakes, but there must be a way to deactivate some of the stupid crap that goes against my 56 years of driving experience. I like being in charge, and they are trying to take that away from me.
But...I am really happy with my 2024 and I'd buy another. When I was shopping, I was not wanting the BF Screen, the 22" wheels, and the power running boards. I have all three...
