Request advice, lost my only key and its FOB. I had the "best" lock-smith in town come out to re-key, and they were unsuccessful. I was told to have truck (Expy) towed to Ford Dealership in town. I called the dealership, and was told because of the year (1998) I would need to have the entire ignition unit on steering column replaced. The lock-smith that came out did provide me with a dummy key to lock/unlock doors, but I'm nowhere near solving my missing key issue short of an extremely expensive Ford dealer ignition system replacement. Any advice greatly appreciated!
