Howdy,
I've got a 1999 4wd 5.4l that's going to need some transfer case work. I figured I'd go ahead and change the transmission filter and atf along with the transfer case atf while I'm already under there and making a mess.
I currently have 9 quarts of Motorcraft Mercon LV atf. My question is if I can use it in the 4r70w transmission and bw4406 transfer case? I read somewhere that they only take Mercon V, but another place said anything above V is fair game. I'd rather be safe than sorry, though, so I figure I should get some clarification from y'all before.
