Hi Guys, just hear to share my new to me expedition.

It’s a 1998 5.4L Commercial 4x4 Expedition with the Oil Filter Relocation Kit.

I purchased the truck from a Fire Department. It currently has 74k miles.

List of upgrades and repairs so far include:

Removing Fire Equipment & Fire Graphics

New Brake Lines Front and Rear

New Coil Pack for Cylinder 2-3 (Doesn’t Misfire any longer and don’t want to disturb motor too much at this moment)

XLT Cloth Seats

XLT Center Console

I am currently having an issue I am trying to figure out if anyone can give me some insight, the truck had a misfire and was running rough, I changed the coil packs as stated above. No longer has a misfire however, under full throttle acceleration the truck feels like either a governor or restriction is being placed on the TPS by the ECM. I cannot give it more than 2/3 of the gas pedal before it feels like it drops off its face and is bottoming out. Side note in park if you hold down the pedal it’ll only rev to 2000 RPM.

Was this happening before you changed the coils? Or were you unable to get that far because of the misfires?

Congrats on your purchase! You're going to have a nice Gen1 when you're finished.

I will change fuel filter this week.

Behind the grille is the PA / Siren from the fire department.
