Help wiring in JS Alternator. At their advice I ordered their ‘GM 1 wire’ 14.8V regulator as well. Alternator and regulator should arrive tomorrow. (I’ve already made batt cables for and run the ‘Big 3’.)
The factory alternator plug does not plug into their alternator. My understanding is that the ‘GM 1 wire’ regulator plugs into the alternator and I run that ‘one wire’ from it to the I or IG (Not sure how it’s labeled, I or IG, on the 2014. I have a diode installed inline with the sense wire now to bump voltage a bit for an AGM battery.) wire coming into the alternator plug.
My question is what happens to, or what becomes of, the other two wires going to the factory alternator plug at that point…? Am I losing some functionality?
