Hey all, new member here. I'm a long time Ford truck guy, owned lots of them, but this is my first Ford SUV. Little backstory - we decided about 6 months that is was time to replace our trusty 2011 Sienna with 185K on it with something newer. Since our 3 kids are out of car seats now, we felt that we could move out of the minivan stage and into a "cooler" soccer mom SUV, and my wife decided on a 2021 Dodge Durango GT. Turned out to be a huge mistake. That thing had multiple electrical gremlins that we didn't have the energy to deal with, so we instead started looking for an Expedition since I'm familiar with the drivetrains (currently have a 16 F150 Platty with 190k, love that truck) and the extra room would be beneficial. Ended up finding a clean 2017 Lincoln Navigator with 95K on it and absolutely no rust (hard to find here in Pa). So far we love it. More room than the Durango and much smoother ride, plus some extra luxury features for mom.
So, although I think the Navigator is very classy looking, it is a little boring stock. Looking to improve the stance a little and make it look a little tougher. In my head, I think it needs to be about 2" taller with 35s on it, but from what I've been reading, it seems like 35s are a tight fit on these with the power running boards. I will do some experiments to see, as I have a set of stock F150 wheels with 35s that I can mount up and test. My bigger question is about the lift. I see there are a lot of people running 3/2 ready lifts, but is are there any 1.5-2" options? Also, can I install any Expedition suspension systems on my Navigator? I see people saying the CCD suspension is tricky to deal with, but I have a Navigator Select, which according to the book does not have CCD (that came on the Navigator Reserve I'm told). Any advice or info that people can provide would be helpful. So far after several days of searching I have yet to find even one 15-17 Navigator on a lift with larger tires. Would love to see some if you know of any, if not I'll be the first to post on up when I'm done.
