Matt’s Off-road Recovery uses kinetic ropes almost entirely. He even has his own yellow branded Yankum rope model. His rope is a 7/8" DIA x 30 ft Kinetic Rope (Static 6,000 Ibs Max Static Weight, MBS 25,600 lbs) by Yankum Ropes. It is $295 so it is not a inexpensive investment.

I think the static ones are good for even pulls. Kentic ropes excel at more aggressive tugs.

As far as sizing, can’t say what they should be. If you saw a recommendation of 3-4 times, then that is a good number to start with.
