So I bought this oil extractor for my '17 Platinum so I wouldn't have to crawl under it and remove the guard just to drain the oil on my back. So the oil pan on these 3.5 ecoboosts have a lower oil chamber than where the dipstick tube is. The extractor was only able to pull out 3 liters. So, that was a waste of money. I ended up having to do the old remove panel and drain the remaining 2 quarts the hard way.

Not fun.

A power ratchet makes removing the splash guard screws easier. Yes, you're still on your back. But it just zips the screws right out.

adding a Fumoto 137N drain plug is even easier, then you don't have to take the splash guards off either. push tube on, flip valve.
