Only odometer area lights dim when headlights turned on

Blows my mind! The dimmer switch seems to control all dash lights, but when I turn the headlights on the dash the lights only within the odometer area dim to where I can hardly see them! Any clues here? I thank you very much! Sorry! 2007XLT but SSV

My 140 mph speedo is horrible, I can't see anything during the day with sunglasses on and when the headlights are on when it isn't totally dark there is no indication of it anywhere.

I got the same issue. But I rarely drive my expy since I'm out in the big rig
