I would like to change out my outside mirrors on my 1999 Expedition (heated) to the 2000-2002 heated with turn signal in the mirror housing. Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for both setups so I can see what is required to get the 2000-2002 heated/signal mirrors to work on my 1999?

Thanks in advance.

hello, my name is Patrick, you might want to check with your local auto salvage yards near you, they might be able to help you out, if you're expedition is the Eddie Bauer it might be already setup for the mirrors that you're looking for, my 2002 Ford Eddie Bauer has the heated mirrors with the turn signals in them but I upgraded my mirrors to the tow style mirrors even though I don't plan on towing anything with my expedition but I just like how they look. I'm in the process of adding LEDs to them just for my taste.my 2002 Ford Eddie Bauer Expedition with my new tow mirrors.jpg

Dude, where did you get those mirrors ???? I've been looking high and low for a set just like that for my 99 EB. Like you, I'm sure I'll have to wire in some type of aftermarket signal light.

Hello, I did this on my 2000 xlt, I used f-150 mirrors and molded them to the expedition mirror surrounds. The wiring was easy, I think this was the picture of mine after. Although the new towing mirrors are not heated, I believe my old ones were, I live in Southern California, no big deal.

I went to the junk yard and got a set of heated, signal mirrors from a 2000 EB Expy. With the wiring diagrams Jim Brown provided (Thanks Jim!!!), I was able to wire these 2000 mirrors into my 1999 harness. The 2000 wiring harness has a lot of extra wires for memory which the 1999s never came with. Luckily, the 1999s came prewired for signal and heat, you just had to choose which one you wanted since the signal was in the mirror part and you couldn't have both until 2000. Now, to paint the forest green mirror cover Oxford White and we'll be done.

I'm confused, why can't you have both heat and signal? I'm tryna take some 05 mirrors from the junkyard

In 1999, Ford did not offer an outside mirror with both heat and signal. It was one or the other. However, since it was a choice, the 1997-1999 Expeditions were wired for both. Depending on the mirror that was installed, determined which pins on the connector were active.
