Today, our 2020 Plat. Max popped up 2 codes. The first code was "Park Brake Limited Function | Service Required". When the engine was cycled, the second code changed to "Park Brake Fault | Service Now" with a yellow icon on the dash (images below). Whenever the car is shut off or when I apply the parking brake manually, "Park Brake Fault | Service Now" would pop up and parking brake would not engage. Luckily, we have a flat driveway.

Pads, rotors (Powerstop) and fluids were replaced around 6 months ago at our local Kal Tire. I did remind the service advisor to put the electronic parking brake in service mode before changing pads and he replied "Yes, you don't have to worry. Our technicians will follow the procedures of each individual manufacturer" Don't think it was a problem though, because the parking brake has been working fine, no issues for 6 months already. Pad wear has been normal too when we brought it into Ford for service 3 months ago (rears wearing 1mm faster than fronts).

I don't know much, but have a feeling it is something electrical, but cycling the engine doesn't work . Would the next step be removing the battery terminal for a hard reset? The car is out of New Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty and I would like to try everything before bringing it into the dealer. Thanks!

Only at 55,000km (34,000mi). Quite frustrating with all these little issues.

Update: Played around underneath our Expy today. 20240612_152900.jpg20240612_153000.jpg
Culprit: loose wire connection
Found the driver side wire a slightly looser than the left. Gave it a slight push at the upper connecting point and heard a very silent click. When I turned the engine on, the codes still popped up, but after apply and releasing the parking brake, it went away instantly. Really thought about getting rid of it lol.
