Hello Everyone, I am new here, let me dive right in.

I purchased a 2010 expedition with 180,000 miles. Eddie Bauer Edition with 5.4l. This vehicle was running great and the only check engine error was cat converter, no big deal. The other issues were as follows, radio was not stock to vehicle and did not work. Cig lighter did not work, 12V slot did not work. Other than that everything worked. After a few weeks of owning this exp I decided it was time i fix the radio and the cig lighter. Radio still does not work, i fixed the cig lighter with a fuse. AFTER fixing cig lighter things went to hell. No start, full power everywhere but no start. Checked all the fuses and relays, all good. Tried starting in neutral, no go. You can hear the fuel pump kick on when key is turned. I thought maybe it was anti theft system. That was not the case after trying the anti theft resets (key on door, leaving key in ignition for 20 minutes, leaving battery unplugged over night) Anti theft was not the issue. On the dash there is now two errors, Check Rear PAaking Assist and Advancetrac service now. I finally was able to get the thing started by using a jumper wire in the relay spot for starter. After some research i found the number 7 pin wire on the wiring leading into the computer. Spliced the cable and added a wire directly to the negative battery terminal. This allowed me to start and run!

Here is where the fun begins. Upon doing this fix I decided to drive because you know you gotta test it. First thing I noticed, NO SPEEDOMETER(this was working before). The message for miles to empty showed --- rather than a number indicating an issue there. The vehicle was really slow on acceleration and once you got a good speed going if you let off the gas pedal it acted as if the brake was applied and slowed down quickly. The radiator fan is also really freakin loud and running hard(wasnt that loud before) The Fan relay itself is getting EXTREMELY hot! Does not beep when backing up anymore. Now I thought maybe that ground into the battery was causing issues. Unplugged that wire while vehicle was running and nothing changed. I took the thing to autozone to get the codes read even though the check engine light disappeared.

I had a U0101 code last week. Trans was in limp mode (locked in 3rd gear). Acceleration was dog slow.

The wiring from my trans to the PCM run near the exhaust manifold and had melted. I pulled the whole harness (not a terrible job, about an hour) and repaired the harness with high temp wire and some insulated foil tape (found in the go fast section of the auto parts store).
