That's really low cost for the IWE. I think I paid about $150 for both, that same listing is now $123 each. This is one of those times where buying the Motorcraft part is worth the money. That's the general consensus from everything I have seen at least.

However, if it's still making the noise the IWE might not be the issue. You can test the current IWE's with a vacuum pump to see if they hold vacuum, and if they engage and disengage properly, which is basically the idea behind testing with and without the engine running.

Can you duplicate the noise by jacking up a tire and spinning it?
No, i cannot seem to get it to make any noise at all. Seems smooth when I tried that.

The vacuum pump I have for this type of testing is the Mityvac MITMV8500, not the same as an A/C vacuum pump. It comes with some fittings and hose. I also use other bits of hose and vacuum fittings I have laying around. Large model engine fuel line works really well with it, I have lots of it from years past. Any small flexible hose will work.

If you disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum solenoid mounted on the passenger side of the PCM on the firewall you can connect a vacuum pump there and test the IWE's and the lines to them at the same time. The check valves that Vincent Vega mentioned are right in that area as well. I had to replace one not too long ago due to poor engine performance.

Thank you very much. I will definitely purchase that vac. The noise has gotten a little louder so I need to get on it. It only happens at 20 mph + and only with a slight turn or cornering to the right. Does not do it when stopped then turning to the right at 90°. Only moving. It's definitely coming from the driver side. I did locate the solenoid, lines & check valve . Thx.
