I'm needing some rear axle bearings and seals for a 3.31 and do I need to add the one with the friction stuff or can I use just regular gear lube?

You need the additive if it’s a Limited Slip differential. Jack up the rear so both back tires are off the ground. Put it in neutral and spin one of the tires by hand. If both rear tires rotate the same direction then it’s a Limited Slip. If they rotate in opposite directions then it’s an Open Diff.
