Hello! My husband and I are going to hopefully be buying a 2019 expedition tomorrow. I was looking into the carfax and saw there’s 2 active recalls. I don’t quite understand the 2nd one. Do we not buy it or is it easy/cheap to fix?
If you like it buy! Those recalls are no big deal. Reading some of these posts one said not to drive it. I'm trying to figure out how you'd get it to the dealer so the recall could be done, if you didn't drive it.Hello! My husband and I are going to hopefully be buying a 2019 expedition tomorrow. Really? So, if there is no remedy available, they are just stuck with the vehicle? It is illegal for a car dealer to sell a motor vehicle with open safety recalls.
I would think that Ford is obligated to repair. It is after all their recall.Really? So, if there is no remedy available, they are just stuck with the vehicle?
No need to apologize and you needed info in a hurry. Also it was late at night. lolSorry this is my first time using this site! I didn’t see any other thread originally.

Well...for one, we don't know if the dealer in question is a Ford dealer, for another, again, what if a remedy is not available?I would think that Ford is obligated to repair. It is after all their recall.
Yes - until the safety recall is performed.
I'm of the belief that once a recall has been issued it is the responsibility of the company who made the vehicle to honor the recall no matter who presents the car/truck for the repairs listed in the recall.Well...for one, we don't know if the dealer in question is a Ford dealer, for another, again, what if a remedy is not available?
That's exactly correct. But it is up to the owner to take the vehicle in to get the service. I think there is a time frame because I purchased a 2002 ford vehicle that had several recalls, but Ford would not honor it since it was 2020, lol.I'm of the belief that once a recall has been issued it is the responsibility of the company who made the vehicle to honor the recall no matter who presents the car/truck for the repairs listed in the recall.
Hmmm, could be that they only repair the recall before the warranty expires after that your on your own? That's exactly correct. But it is up to the owner to take the vehicle in to get the service. Ford will fix the recalled problem at no cost to you. It doesn't matter if it's out of warranty.Hello! My husband and I are going to hopefully be buying a 2019 expedition tomorrow. Prophetic post right there. Just picked it up from having both recalls done, tensioners fell into the bad batch and had to be replaced, AND I had to have the transmission rebuilt. Again. Sigh.We already discussed this on another thread. Also, I'd be more worried about the transmission than these recalls. Have it properly checked out.
